It firmly grips the road surface in winter conditions thanks to the winter weather compound used in its manufacture and the directional arrow-shaped tread design. The ice traction is improved as well. The treads specific siping detail upgrades the ice surface grip as it cleans out the thin layer of surface water from below the tires footprint when driving on ice-covered roads. The tires swooping grooves prevent hydroplaning by dispersing water and slush from the footprint. These enhancements are the reason the tire has received the three mountain peak and snowflake symbol given to tires capable of handling the harshest winter weather.</p><p>The models controllability is also boosted. The special 3D sipe technology increases the driving stability. The 3D sipes stabilize the tread blocks during the drive, which prevents tread flexing.
